GooN3r Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 In the next few hours I am going to buy 2gb of RAM for my LanParty SLI DR. I have overclocked my X2 4400 to around 2.7Ghz. The first decision I need to make is do I go for low latency PC3200 or higher frequency PC4000? I am considering the following brands in both PC3200 & PC4000 forms: G.Skill Crucial Ballistix or OCZ? Does anyone have any suggestions based on experience? I did have 2gb of Corsair but I wouldn’t play ball with my motherboard, so I am going to avoid it. Gipse Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24719 G.Skill, OCZ, Mushkin etc. are fine brands. I would stay away from Corsair, many people had problems with their modules. Gipse

likewhoa Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 redlines! stay away from anything pc3xxx if you're gonna overclock and stay at high dividers. my 3 choices in order would be xp redlines gskill hz series or some bh5s
ganders75 Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 I'll second the Mushkins, the standard XP4000 are pretty good too. Alot of bang for the buck too... If you do choose them - have a look at the timings here to get you started for different freq.
GooN3r Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 Thanks for the replies guys. I know the redline is good stuff, but it comes at a price. With the changes in hardware I dont want to invest too much money on this. Having had a look around I think I might go for G.Skill PC4000.
