BIOS hangs at splash screen

Recommended Posts

I've already done that for the 30 second, 1-hour, and 23-hour intervals, but I just started it again and I'll let you know tomorrow around this time if it worked or not.

Thanks again for the help.

The 24 hour CMOS Clear is normally the last good hope for reviving a board in this condition.

Depending on a few other factors you may still encounter difficulties.

If you've verified the proper operation of all other components using another motherboard and the board will not respond past the Splash screen you should contact Happy_Games at the email address in his sig for further instructions.

Good Luck!

Phyically look at your drives and ram to check to see if they are set up right

don't just hope that the bios does it for you

also make sure that your moles connectors are on right

usual signs when that happens

I know it sounds like a Bios issues but have you tried just by chance removing your ram or reseating the processor etc. Stuff like that just to see if you can get it to the bios. Just a thought.

I have tried reseating the video card and RAM. After work today, I try reseating the CPU (after I finish the CMOS clear). As for verifying the hardware, I don't have anything at home to do that with but I might try bringing the system into work to check there. I'll post back when I know more.

Thanks,

Just spitballing but could it be a corrupted boot sector on the hard drive?

Are you able to boot from CD?

Though I guess if you got as far as the system selecting boot devices, you'd be able to enter BIOS, right?
