Guest FxXP Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 Hey all. Nvidia finally released the little application that we seen in the testing ages a while back. Forceware is their software tool designed to completely control the hardware and BIOS features of the nForce2/3 chipsets without having to reboot into the BIOS to do it. There is a downside to this, it only works with the nForce2 400/Ultra 400 and nForce3 150 at this time. For more information, you can go here to look at the whitepaper. http://www.nvidia.com/object/sysutility_1.0.html
d3bruts1d Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 Considering it is currently only available for Windows, I'm guessing you posted in the wrong forum. Also.. for others... ForceWare 1.0 = Monitoring / Tweaking Software for nForce 2 & 3 mobos. ForceWare xx.xx = Video drivers.
Guest FxXP Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 Well, software is software... forgot you split up the win/*nix sections, been looking at my work screen for too long I took a look at a 9 page forum post at nforcehq and the results are a mixed batch. Users have reported some problems with it not posting proper voltages or not supplying complete motherboard information. Some have tried it on the first revisions of the nForce2 and did have some luck with it, but not all options were available. I am going to try it myself on my 1.04 DX and see what happens. O(V)eGA_l2el) Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 Does this software have the ability to monitor video card temps? (IE: ati card temps)
Guest FxXP Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 No, just the chipset, AGP, and DDR voltages, thats about it. Some people call it useless, and yes, its a toy.
AYoKoNA Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 I don't know about the nvidia nforce2 or 3 cause i haven't messed with them, but I d/l the new forceware driver download (52.16) from nvidia for my fx5900. Had to uninstall and find the old drivers. That driver is crap. Couldn't even see textures and mountains on desert combat!!

Guest FxXP Posted October 29, 2003 Posted October 29, 2003 I can adjust the FSB/MEM settings in the GUI, I just don't want to push it fast 400 due to my RAM only being PC2700.
