JDMJOSH Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 couldnt really find an answer to this using the search, but on water how high could i reasonably push the vcore?
red930 Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Since you have a good high range WC setup i would probably take the vCORE up to 1.65v max. These Opteron's really don't need too much voltages for overclocking at high speeds. I think you got a good stepping, maybe hit around 1.85-2.9GHz i think but not to sure. Good Luck! likewhoa Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 he has a great stepping which will do 3Ghz+ and you're right I wouldn't set vcore higher than 1.67v. it should do 2.8 on stock vcore and 2.9 if you got a nice ambient temp. good luck. What kind of speeds are you hitting and under what voltages? just curious what other ccbbe 0617 owners are getting out of their chips
Peter949 Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I'm getting 2.924ghz on 1.44v on cpu-z. Should hit 3ghz no problem on wc but I'm on air.

SirLink Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I am only getting 2.8 (on water) ,but upping the voltage doesn't stableize it... Going to try again with some new ram (ddr-500) I have to set my divider to 1/2, which I think is limiting me...
Praz Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 With a 165 processor PC3200 ram will definitely hinder your overclock. Quite often it's next to impossible to use most of the dividers below 150.
likewhoa Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I definally agree, pc3200 is not for overclocking for sure.
watsonte Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I definally agree, pc3200 is not for overclocking for sure. I beg to differ...its more that I just lucked out, and yeah I could probably run a 3.0 all day long if I had some Redline or some OCZ in my rig...but either way my PC3200 is running just fine at 260mhz...1:1, and 2 FX-57s later I am at 2.866... I agree that DDR500 Ram is meant for overclocking, but most DDR400 Ram will do close to 250....and in general as long as you multi isnt that low you will be okay... But with his case yes DDR500 most definatly with a x9 multi...
ebdoradz Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 looks like everyone is getting those 165 puppy and some pc4000 ram i guest we arent alone whith those CCBBE0617FPMW likewhoa
RubberDuck Posted August 26, 2006 Posted August 26, 2006 I'm at 316x9=2.8 with1.4v now.I will see if she will hit 3.0Ghz when winter gets here ( temps to high for my tast )
