It's really not difficult to do at all...yes you can screw up. I've done half a dozen or so and the worst I've done is slightly bend a few pins that were easily straightened. Using an XP-90 on my 150 has netted me a tiny chip at one corner though it doesn't seem to have hindered it in any way...

The IHS on my current one is on.I had another processor thatw as removed.I won't remove it again since I could barely sell it after.I rather pay good money on a better cooler than remove IHS.

I dont have the skill nor the balls to try, if I have a few low end chips to practice on. I would not try it on the chips I have for the first try.

You aint the only one. Mine's still on.

If I get a bolt down or water cooling then the lid will come off. But with a XP-120 I'd rather keep the IHS on then crush my cpu.

yea I don't see a point in no IHS without watercooling, phase or tec/wc.
