Trisk Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Hey I've been having this really odd problem with a new build I have. (in sig) It has passed more than 12 hours dual prime and runs every game i can throw at it great. However without a doubt it crashes 1-2 times (normally just once) after a cold boot. Every single time. It doesn't matter what speeds or ram settings i put in there or what i happen to be doing. It just freezes the whole system. (web or game doesn't matter) It happens maybe 10-25 minutes after a cold boot. I can't figure it out any ideas?

arcticwind Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I've got the same problem too back in the day I have only one card. Ever since I installed another X1900 card for crossfire setup. My PC freezes/BSOD sooner. After hitting the reset button, it works great for like 8hrs of gaming nonstop.

raju Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 enable pci reset in bios, that'll cure the cold boot freeze.
Trisk Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 I enabled pciE reset delay in genie bios. Is that what you were refering to? Haven't crashed yet today with it but i'll have to watch it a few days to see if its really gone.
Trisk Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Enabling pciE reset delay didn't resolve the freezing for me.
mizzer Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I had the same issue (along with the uli issue). An RMA fixed the problem. Sorry mate.
Trisk Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 This can't be an RMA issue its gotta be some setting i think. It runs flawless except after a cold boot. after that its golden.
