honkee Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Well I have 2 939 pcs already and figured id build a third since they are so cheap. All of my components are purchased through the fs/ft forums. 148(tested fine in another pc) x850 pcie(tested fine in another pc) 4x512 Patriot PC4800(unsure about these) Dfi SLI-DR Expert (unsure about this) OCZ 600 watter 3200ks Drive Well the problem is when i turn on the pc, i get into bios and all that jazz but everyuthing is blanked out, eventually itll freeze in bios and i will have to power it down> The other 90% of the time it will freeze during DFi diagnostics tests> 2 leds in the corner is where it hangs at, which means a Vga Problem? But my card is working fine and i tested it in 2 other machines? I also tested the patriot in My dfi cf board with x1900xtx' and the patriot works fine in there as well.Ive tried one ram stick, 12 hour clearing of the cmos, the works. Somebody please help

watsonte Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 But my sig pc is not the pc in Question? Well then create a temporary one...Its in the rules....I dont know what else to say in regards to that.... With your problem I would setup with a very basic layout... VGA, one stick of Ram, Harddrive and well thats about it....then try and boot.....also do a search for the Proper CMOS clear...and follow that method, I believe its a 24 hr clear.... honkee Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 yup all 3 power connectors are in place, i dont see a hdd type input on the mb. ive read all those links you guys gave me and have tried eveyrthing, I figure if you cant get help off the actual Dfi forums, then its a lost cause
tasr Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I would at this point remove it completely from the case if you haven’t already. Then rebuild with minimal components it like this; NF4 LanParty - initial build w/pictures. Then clear the CMOS like this. Follow it exactly. Then load optimized defaults in the BIOS. I would go back to stock settings....and infact I would suggest running at Optimized defaults if you can get to the Bios Menu..... HDD input? Are you looking for SATA ports...I am confused by this comment? EDIT : tasr we are copying each other.......almost word for word.... honkee Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I mean with my LAnparty boards thers a 4 pin molex u can plug power into, but these expert boards dont seem to have one. I have tried the minimal install outside of the case on a wooden table. THe three power connectors that i am commenting on are the 24 pin,8pin and the floppy one. But i mean what would actually cause all the options in bios to be blanked out? ANd i can get into bios maybe once or twice in an hour? This is really irritating me at this point, since im not a novice at pcs or yet alone dfi boards, been using them since socket A, and the worst one i ever had to deal with was the Nf3-Ultra-D, but this expert is right up there with it
