TypicalSloan Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 Sorry if this sounds kinda stupid............but i heard somewhere that there was goin to be a new form factor coming out in the not so distant future. Just wanted to see if anyone else had heard of this?
DevilMB3017 Posted October 27, 2003 Posted October 27, 2003 I haven't heard anything of the sort... The current standard is ATX, with mATX floating around as micro-atx - basically a laptop sized mobo - and ITX which is an ultra-small form factor. Ex-Cessive Posted October 28, 2003 Posted October 28, 2003 There is a new formfactor that is supposed to go mainstream in 2004, meaning an end to all our cases :'( Ots called BTX you can find some info here: http://www.formfactors.org/developer/specs/BTX_Spec_1_0.pdf http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=1876&p=

TypicalSloan Posted November 2, 2003 Posted November 2, 2003 Its not that big of a change, just take your atx board, flip it upside down and turn it around, and thats the way the new boards will be arranged. But of course the technology on them will all be new.
