Conflict- Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Hey ya ! I've got a problem, my MoBo is a DFI Infinity Ultra-II M2 (sAM2), my cpu is athlon64 3500+ Orleans I can reach for ex. 250x11 = 2750MHz primestable, BUT if I set 275x10 (same freq), it won't boot, the board just beeps in 4-5sec intervals (I can't see even a P.O.S.T) maximum HTT(PSB) i can set is 260x10, if I set anything higher than 260PSB, it won't boot. Even if I set multiplier to 8x (300x8), it won't boot :// I AM very sad and desperate 'cause DFI boards always can hit beyond 350HTT (nF3 250Gb, nF4-4x, nF4Ultra-D), so where do you guys think the problem is ? I don't understand all genie bios settings, DDR2 freq is set to 667MHz or 533MHz (depends on HTT freq - DDR freq is currently 620MHz - it's OK) HTT multi I have lowered to 4x, but it's the same thing if I let AUTO or sth. else CPU voltage 1.45V, DDR 1.9, NB 1.5V, HT 1.2V I saw lot of ppl having THIS MoBo and reaching even 400+HTT. Thank you for ur help guys. And please, sorry for my English, I hope you could understand me well.
Angry_Games Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I AM very sad and desperate 'cause DFI boards always can hit beyond 350HTT even these brand new motherboards that have never been made before until this particular one? ALL of them? are you sure about that? have you thought maybe that since this is the very first AM2 motherboard we've ever built that you just don't know all the tricks and secrets and settings and timings and configs to get where you THINK you should be? I know for sure that I definitely have never had a DFI AM2 board before so there's no way I am going to run around claiming that ALL DFI boards can EASILY hit 350HTT, especially on a brand new board that we've never seen before... Conflict- Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 no no no, just hold on please I don't say on THOSE boards, I just meant on 'DFI MOBOs' - it means nF4Ultra-D, nF3 250Gb, NF4x, u know ! I tried all the tricks I know, but only possible thing can be : RAM in dualchannel I'll try to check this, by using 1x512 and the another 512 stick instead of 2x512MB D-C

MC FLMJIG Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I have seen some Ultras hit over 350 however mine is kinda stuck at 320 for the moment. I had to use 9x divider (maybe that work for you) becasue it would not go past 230 at anything higher. It's weird but you really need to put time into playing around with this board. It's probably, in my opinion, the best AM2 out right now. Though there are some new ones coming out within the next few days that will be available tothe public... However they seem to be 2x the price. Drop to 2T - memory. Play with the multiplier selection Dividers? Maybe even memory? It's so many little things that can go wrong. kitfit1 Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Try lowering your HT multi to 3. At 4 you are overclocking your HT bus, i know it should take it anyway but try 3 and see if it will boot.
Spaz-Ed Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I agree, try lowering the HTT multi to 3, and see what happens.

soulfly Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 My board does not have any problem booting and running at 300mhz htt. I haven't run any real stability testing though... since I only had this board last night. My idea is... probably you need some adjustments to the memory controller setting if you want to use different multipliers. Try playing around with Trfc timings. Conflict- Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 It's weird ! I'm building right now second rig for my friend, with the same Ultra-M2 board, and it's just the same !! CPU wasn't the one I have, but another Orleans 3200+ (brand new). 260x10 - it was completely stable, 265x10 wasn't stable, though. Board just beeps. But I was trying with my RAM sticks (GeIL DDR2-667) with divider. It appears to be when I set the DRAM frequency to AUTO, HTT can reach even 300. But if I use a divider, it cannot. Tomorrow I may get another sticks (Kingmax DDR2-800 4-4-4-12), let's see what happens. Thanks though.
