SLI-DR Question

Recommended Posts

If he baught a SLI-DR....then its neither...if He baught an SLI-DR Expert..it will say on the board...if he baught and SLI-DR Venus it will say that....

The Venus series has different capacitors...Everest or CPU-Z will tell you what board it is...

Ir you don't know where look .. its' easy.. the SLI-DR have the DDR slot's just upper the CPU and they are horizontal.. the Expert + Venus, have the DDR vertical left of the CPU..

When you power on your PC, the screenboot, will tell you the model.. The logo's are different and it's write Expert or Venus..

I think you have standard SLI-DR and not the expert or you have see this before..

Some feature in bios.. for example you don't need the switch for use more 3.2V for the DDR, you can set directly the voltage -> 4.2V ( if you use BH5).. but there's not a lot of difference..

A huge difference come from compability with TCCD600 on the Expert board... it's impossible at 99% of case to use TCCD600 ( G-skill PC4800, OCZ PC4800, A-data 600mhz)

But it seems the Venus have not this problem.. so it seems this 2 boards have some difference too...

Anywa the SLI-DR ( standard) is close to the DFI NF4 SLI ultra.. More SATA slots..

But they have the stability and are both good and certainly the most liked for OC..

The boards act differently.. the Venus is a beast for OC the DDR.. really stable and permit some crazy thing...

The Expert too but with some lower result and many incompability..

I basically wanted to update the BIOS using Tmods boot CD, but in the CD he distinguishes between the two. I haven't booted the MOBO yet, that's why I don't know which one it is. I'm sure that the BIOS is dated though, and I will be popping in an AMD X2 4400+, so I know theirs gonna be some compatability issues if I dont flash it. Any opinions/ideas?
