ether.real Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I got some new PC4000 OCZ plats for my rig...and my Opty 170 just cant keep up with it. My Opty poops out around 2.75GHz, and right now I have the OCZ booting at 290 3-3-2-8. Not quite stable yet, but working on it. I am using the 623-3 BIOS right now, and am wondering if the 724-2BTA has reverse dividers in it? Current rig: DFI nF4 Ultra-D Opty 170, stable to 10x275 at 1.375x110% 2x1GB OCZ PC4000 Plats 3-3-2-8, boots at 290 but not stable 7800GTX XP-90 with 90mm Panaflo
Praz Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 From the ram description I'm assuming you have EB sticks and I'm not quite sure what you are asking. If you're looking for dividers that will run your ram faster then what the HTT is set you won't need them. Then isn't any way possible that EB modules are going to run that fast. ether.real Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Well...they are. So I do need and want them. I am 100% stable running these sticks at 275, and that is where the Opty maxes out. I have booted this RAM at 290, and trying to see if they are stable right now at 285.
Praz Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 They are definitely capable of 275. But 290 3d stable isn't going to happen. Post an OCDB entry at that speed and I'll be the first to say I was wrong.
ether.real Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 she be locking up at 290, but 285 appears quite stable. passed 16M SuperPi, running 32M right now. I can boot into windows just fine at 290, though.
Praz Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 That type of testing doesn't show the end result with those chips. They give out under 3d apps first.
ether.real Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 alright, when i get a little time later, i will run some AQ3, 05 and 06. I still want to know...does the TBA BIOS have reverse dividers?
