Infinity 975X/G, RAID0 & a SATA drive

OK

I set up RAID0 no problems then installed a SATA caddy.

If I reboot the PC with the SATA caddy on the PC wont boot to windows.

So does this mean you cant mix RAID0 & a spare SATA drive?

If I turn the caddy on in windows I can get the Matrix Raid controller to detect PnPlay devices OK. The problem is the SATA (caddy) isn't and I dont think can be optomised for fast removal. So I suspect I will eventually hose the data on it if I shut it down before windows.

Any suggestions welcome. I know it has an external eSATA but it is a different connection, I will look for an adaptor.

Conroe is known to have issues with Raids, this could be one of those issues.......I had issues similar to this with my setup, adding the storage drive, but I would not know how to begin fixing the issue in your situation

I have the same problem!

I have a pair of raptors in raid and there is no way I can get the additional sata drive to work.

Motherboard BS problem!! Must of been a rush to market at our expense. Not happy about this one!!

Maybe I just don't know how to interpret the new items in the bios, I read through the manual and , well you know that leaves a lot to be desired.

Conroe has a problem with raid? Hum! My raid works excellent. Anyway the CPU is a I/O device, I don't think it cares.

Hope someone figures this out because I am running 64 bit through the raptors and usually run the single Sata drive on 32 bit (we all know why).
