disturbed6dws Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Okay...there is this water block http://svc.com/cpu-300-v13-18.html it is priced at 70 dollars.....it is set up for 1/2" toobing...... the same block http://svc.com/cpu-305-v06.html set up for 1/4" toobing is 95 dollars ....i very much like these water blocks, but what is the potential difference between these 2 ? why would the price be so much higher on the smaller diameter tubing block ? disturbed6dws Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 arent those blocks pretty much top of the line ?
Guest Timmay Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Why not get better block than those. Yeah, agreed. Look at a DangerDen TDX or a Swiftec Apogee. They are no way NEAR "top of the line".
disturbed6dws Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 what would be the best cpu block that i could buy nowdays....?
disturbed6dws Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 maybe this: http://svc.com/storm.html ?
lowboy Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Thats it works well as you can see in my sig.
Xavior Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 The Storm CPU block is currently the best block available, next to the AquaXtreme MP-05 SP LE. In theory, the Storm is better for processors with no IHS since the cooling area is quite small but very effective, compared to the MP-05 which has a larger heat dissipation area. If you plan on using one of these 2 blocks, a pump with a high head is recommended. Both are known to kill flow because of the way they work. disturbed6dws Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 which pump would you recommend with this ?
disturbed6dws Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 i was looking at this one: http://svc.com/mcp655.html also......do you know how much power this would draw from a power supply when running maximum pump speed ? 24watts ?!? Xavior Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Yeah, around 24 watts. The D5 is good, though some people prefer the DDC Ultra with Alphacool top because it has more head. http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/ind...roducts_id=4509 It's more expensive though. This is because it's bought as a normal DDC Ultra (Which is also listed on the site you posted), and a seperate clear top is bought to be placed on the pump. This allows you to use 1/2''OD barbs. disturbed6dws Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 looking at the specs of both pumps....the alphacool does have more head (4.7 over 3.1) but it has a lower maximum discharge rate .... 600lp/h over 1200lp/h - isnt that going to matter big time ?
