Dutt1113 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I have a DFI lanparty ut nf4 ultra-d and I'm trying to reinstall windows but I seem to have misplaced my raid driver disk so I can press "F6" at the beginning of windows installation so I can install "third party drivers" and install the driver needed to install windows on a sata harddrive. OldGuy Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 All the drivers you need can be downloaded directly fro DFI's website...
Dutt1113 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 which one(s) do I need though?
OldGuy Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Storage controller...if your doing a RAID array you'll need to DL the RAID controller as well. I believe what you DL can create the floppy disc for you...
Dutt1113 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I downloaded the nforce raid driver onto a floppy and pressed f6 during windows installation and it tryed to copy a file off the floppy and it said it couldn't. The file was something like "ideo.dll" or something. It said skipping this file may cause windows not to complete installation or something. Will i be ok or should I try to use a different floppy? sir_italia Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Honeslty just download all the drivers u require for any hardware u might have and merge them into a windows boot cd also with any windows pacthes or updates u may require and this will save u alot of time and trouble as everything will be installed with windows and there will be no errors i have used this program and found it to be the best solution i can't recommend more strongly found it on this forum. http://www.nliteos.com/
lowboy Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Are you wanting raid array if not you dont need the drivers windows has its own.
Dutt1113 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 the windows installation need a file called "idecoi.dll" or something and it couldn't copy it from the floppy so I burned it onto a cd and had windows copy the file from the cd instead. Except when i tried burning the file onto a cd using the integrated burning thing in windwos it said that this file contained extra information that may be lost if I copy it over to the cd/burning it onto a cd. it also said the contents of the file are not changed. Do you have any idea what this means?
sir_italia Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Are you wanting raid array if not you dont need the drivers windows has its own. Â Yes that is to do twitht the windows buring software. As lowboy said if u are not using raid u dont need the sata raid drivers. just do the nlite thing and make the new windows cd with required drivers. But use nero or somthing to burn it. Dutt1113 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 so the way I did it was ok? Just make sure I use the nlite program next time and integrate them into the windows cd?
sir_italia Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Kind of but the way u are going about it is incorrect. U need to burn that file on the windows cd.Read the instrution guide on the nliteos site as u need to extract the windows cd then run the program and do wat it says
lowboy Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 If looking for raid no what you did will not work. As you show only 1 drive then all that is not needed.
