retepetsir Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Hello! I've been reading the forums for a while now, reading the overclocking guide (very useful), other peoples threads, etc. I've had a 4200+ for a few months now, and always had it overclocked slightly, but over that past week I thought I'd spend some time tweaking and testing, to see what my system was capable of. What do you reckon to the following result: It's taken a while to get to this stage, but its running fairly low voltage (imo), memory is 1:1 ratio btw, at 2.5, 3, 3, 8. I'm sure there is more to come, as it currently runs 41C idle and 44-45C full load running Prime95 for over 24 hours.... Btw, using Crucial Ballistix PC4000 DDR500 ram, along with a DFI Sli-DR Motherboard . Thoughts/Tips? Cheers, Pete PS. That's with air-cooling running the Zalman 9000 cooler. n_w95482 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 You have yourself an excellent chip if you've hit 2.8 stable with that voltage . I've only managed to get my Opty 170 up to 2.55 GHz, and it loads in the high 40s to low 50s with a Zalman 7700, so you're a lot better off than I am .
