abeck_23 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Hey I'm slowing building up my new computer and I'm wondering about my videocard. I've heard a lot of the 7900GT KO Superclocked are breaking down, so I was wondering if I could OC the 7900GT KO and beat the 7900GT KO SC??? Or should I just buy the 7900GT KO Superclocked?? I want to stay with eVGA for the step-up program, but if anyone has any other suggestions please comment.
JoeWho Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Get one of the newer 7900 cards will be a number like N584 I think is the KO version $244 after rebate at newegg. Or if you have a little more you can pick up a 512mb version.
Peter949 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Ko will oc to or faster then sc and then you can vmod it also. If you plan to vmod I would just get the ko.
p0tter Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 Ko will oc to or faster then sc and then you can vmod it also. If you plan to vmod I would just get the ko. You may get a KO that does not overclock. How do you know what a KO will overclock... or even what a SC overclocks to? What if he gets a KO that doesnt overclock at all.. or a SC that overclocks to 600/1800 (just an example). There is no guarantee any component will overclock period. I have an eVGA 7900GT KO (eVGA 256-P2-N584 infineon chips), and I am able to overclock it to 564/814. I would get the least expensive eVGA 7900GT. Glad to see another RS482 owner
Redbeaver Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 id say get the KO non-superclock that are the Reloaded version (its N58*, not 56*, and ends with -AR, not -AX, or -BX)... but yes, nobody guarantees u getting SC clocks unless u buy SC, but then again u could mod ur card if u got enuf guts to do so... tweakfreak88 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I have a KO SC running happy on 705/1896. I voltmodded the memory but i'll have to check and see what voltage its at.
aspevacek Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 my 7900GT KO is a 564-FX (0615-A2 chip) it will run @ 599/899 with stock cooling. I am awaiting the arrival of some parts from Danger Den so I can stick my TDX on the AM2. I will then volt mod my card and see where it will go. The chips on my card are Samsung K4J553230G-BC14 I get no artifacting and it seems to run smooth.
red930 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 If money is the issue, then go with a 7900GT (mod it for higher clocks). Now if money is not an option then i would wait for the X1950 which is suppose to arrive on the 23rd of this month. And man that thing is fast! Pucha64 Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 The evga cards are not that gives more often the voltage-problems?

likewhoa Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I got one of the Reload 7900gtx and it's OC at 721/930 and my 3dmark05 score is 9099 which I think it's poor considering that overclock. anyone agree with me?
