Youman2 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Hello I'm new here in this forum and I just learned a little bit speaking english in schooltime, but i hop you will understand my question I had a DFI NF4 SLI-DR Expert which I tried to run with my system, which included a Hiper Type-R modular 580Watt Power Supply. http://hipergroup.com/English/products/hpu-4k530.html I still plugged all the powercables in and turned the system on, it worked fine. then I went to the bios, choosed the DVD as first boot device and installed windows XP. after the installation, it restarted and nothing functioned!!! it just freezed or I don't know if it really freezed, but it just showed the "DFI Lanparty UT"-Logo and does not continued to boot. I wasn't able to go into the bios and to change anything, everytime I restarted the system and everytime I cleared the CMOS and restarted it, it stopped at the logo. So I went to a friend and tested the board with his components and it worked well fine without an installation. Does my system does not functioned because of the power supply? I read something, that some power supplys from seasonic are not compatible to the dfi expert because of his ATX 2.2-Standart and because there is not a -5V cable anymore. but why does the system started and then stopped at the start logo, and why it stopped just still after the reinstallation of windowsXP? before, I was able to go into the bios, after the reinstallation and the restart, i was not able to do this anymore! And how does it looks, do you think that I will have the same problems with my dfi VENUS???

Kingfisher Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I use the Hiper PSU as well and so far it's performed well for me. However I would be inclined to upgrade if I use high end video cards such as dual 7900GTs and up. I see you have a single 7800GT so you should be ok. Mindflux Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 If you haven't already, try booting up with one ram stick in the furthest (closest to edge of the board) slot.
