3000+ @ Clock to stable level?

Moscow

Recommended Posts

Hi, i have a friend who got a AMD 64 3000+ Venice 1.8GHz 512kB 1.36v S939, and i want to clock it for him, i dont want him to have trouble with it so i want to clock it to a very stable level, i belive i can reach 2200MHz (3500+) without problem, but can it reach 2400MHz stable?

I think 2200 is a little slow since almost every processor can reach at least 2600MHz ?

2200 or 2400.. is it going to be stable at 2400? 2200 is very stable right?

9 x 266 = 2400MHz, but i dont know how much volt i should give it? Should i try? Do you know what volt it wants at that speed?

Thanks!

It should be able to reach 2400 with no problem. Other then that nobody is going to be able to tell you much else. Follow "THE" Definitive DFI AMD Overclocking guide and stop at 1.5V or less if temperature exceed 50C. Run all the tests needed for an OCDB entry. IF it passes it should be stable for 24/7 use. You need to do a signature with all the components of the system.

my 3000+ run a 2.4Ghz with 1.46Vcore (1.35+110%), its gaming and prime stable, i run it for everyday use, and my full load temp never get above 38°C, with my silent tower cooler

i can get 2.6Ghz @1.5Vcore(stable), and 2.7@ 1.55V(boot windows but never get further then that), but i prefer to leave it @ 2.4 for everyday use

Welcome to DFI-Street

Do me and all the other people that will be helping you out a big favor. Put together a complete signature per the rules. Look at the examples.

Thank you.

Cant get my signature to get below 50 kb without it looks like ... (Photoshop JPEG @ LOW Detail = about 48kb and i can barely read the text)

Why ColorsIt and not some other brand?

As far as your overclocking increase the frequency gradually dont just try to jump right into a high setting thinking it will work. It is also possible that the memory settings are causing problems. What brand is the memory?
