njswift10141980 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Hey guys I was just wondering which card do you think is better the sapphire x1900xt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102003 or the HIS x1900xt http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814161014. yfital Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I'd Take Sapphire, cause they are well... ATI for what i know (in europe or something) and his is smaller...
watsonte Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 The HIS is quieter....I know those cards are very loud and HIS uses an Arctic Silencer to cool it...but I dont think its worth 88 bucks....I would go with the Sapphire card and then but and Arctic Accelero X1 maybe 2, cant remember which one works on ATI, and go that route... djabby Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I will go with the Sapphire and get a Zalman VF90-Cu cooler. Can't go wrong.
old_geekster Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 As a nVidia guy, I would say neither for me! However, I had planned on buying a "Saphire X1900XTX" until I read all of the problems with the drivers. With that said, go with the "Saphire". kali_guyz Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 r u could wait for x1950xt.....better cooler + faster ram
The Drewster Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 r u could wait for x1950xt.....better cooler + faster ram ...Higher price. I've got a PowerColor X1900XT, OC'ed to higher than XTX speeds with the stock cooler. I say go with Sapphire. Better known brand, and you can pick up Silencers for pennies on the dollar now-a-days. Sorrento Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 Can't compare the $$ on each one... HIS is retail box, while the Sapphire is OEM. The Sapphire's heatsink/fan is better I think... and if its too noise it should only be when playing; with ATItool you can control it and reprogram it so it work at diferent speed/temperatures. LOL thats a urban myth! never had a problem with any driver, although some seem to be better than others!

boo_masters Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 I have had nothing but good times with both Sapphire and HIS. Sapphire being in Taiwan (I think?) and HIS being US-based. Now, in actuality the HIS has a better cooler coupled with a fan control. The iceQ design implements cooling in a more efficient way. However, this is only valid if you are NOT going for aftermarket cooling solutions. A lot of people end up doing just that. If you are planning on aftermarket cooling ANYTIME in the near future (months) then go with the 1900xtx. I always love being able to OC an xt to xtx specs; but then imagine what you can do with the xtx (see my sig) If you get from Newegg you will never have any issues excpet waiting for the RMA to get back to you. Newegg has always taken care of me. BTW, the x1900xtx's DO have differences other than core/mem speeds from the x1900xt's. boo
LuckyLuciano Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 The HIS cooling thing is great, I have a X800GT and I don't hear a whisper. I'm planning to upgard my Vid too and I'm looking to have a silent rig...
