SeanDude05 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 You can slipstream the NVRAID drivers onto a XP install disc. Search google for slipstreaming XP and try nlite.
billdavis Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 what about bios settings like raid spread and jumpers
SeanDude05 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 All you should have to do is enable RAID in BIOS, then enable the ports you want to use. I have two Raptors in RAID0 and I never moved/touched any jumpers?
soundx98 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I think some of the SeaGates come set up for SATA 1 and you need to move the jumpers for SATA 2. Hitachi's require use of their "Feature Tool" to enable SATA 2. What exactly will you be using?

billdavis Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 what about sata spread spectrim enable/disable should the jumpers be in spread spectrim enable/disable are there any guides
soundx98 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 No jumpers need switching on the WDS. Just enable RaID under Integrated Periphial's in Bios. Make sure Phys SATA are all enabled under Genie Bios. Make sure you use the NV SATA Controller Ports. Don't enable spread spectrum. Reboot. (Make sure no IDE HDD drives are connected) Press F10 to set up array Use Stripe 16 if the OS will be on the RAID Array Make Array Bootable if you will be booting from it. Make sure set to Boot from CD. Reboot Follow the guide on RAID setup. Press F6 immediately after setup starts. It will take a minute or three When asked to Insert Floppy drivers Make sure both Drivers get loaded

SeanDude05 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Same here! Haha. I've always passed on the knowledge but never used it. Now that my PC is down for a few days, I'm going to play with it.
