jpinard Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 It's been a while since I've been here and decidedI should see if there's any updates I should get for my mobo. I have the one PCI slot NF4 Ultra-D and am looking to see if ther'es a new BIOS or drivers I should update my system with (hoping maybe I can OC a little better). I'm using the old 2005 NVidia drivers for my Win XP motherboard drivers, and the BETA NF4LD329 BIOS from March 29, 2006 Thanks for the help! jpinard Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 There's a little bit of instability in this BIOs driver... that's why I was considering a different BIOS. But it seemed to me when I got this BIOS I didn't get it off DFI's main site.
SeanDude05 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Check the DFI site. If they have a BIOS version thats later than yours, and you feel it may rectify some problems your having, by all means go ahead and update it. jpinard Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Will my previous settings still be saved?
SeanDude05 Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 No. It's advised to clear the CMOS after you successfully update the BIOS. Also, don't reload any Saved BIOS settings. After you clear the CMOS, your course of action should be, Power Up>Enter BIOS>Load Optimized Defaults>Save and Exit>Enter the BIOS again>Manually enter your old settings>Save and Boot to Windows. OK I'll go that route. Thanks for the help! Last question... anyoneknow where I might have gotten this current beta bios from? I know it wasn't from the main DFI download site.
