Anospa Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Hey guys, we always get questions about steppings and stuff and have to refer people to other forums/sites. Think it would be a good idea to put up our own thread? I'll start and post some stuff. Opteron 165 Known good steppings that are capable of 3ghz: CCB1E 0550VPMW CCBWE 0550UPMW (Some are crappy actually) CCB1E 0605XPMW CCB1E 0606VPMW CCB1E 0608MPMW CCB1E 0609FPAW CCB1E 0609FPMW CCBBE 0610DPMW CCBBE 0615DPMW Honorable Mention: CCBWE 0530TPMW (2.9ghz avg.) CCBWE 0546XPMW (2.85ghz avg.) CCBWE 0609FPAW (Unconfirmed precise averages, but seems to be 2.8-2.9) AVOID if you want to hit 2.8ghz+: CCBWE 0534SPMW CCBWE 0543TPMW CCBWE 0546MPMW CCBWE 0551 (Any packing code) (2.7-2.75ghz 1.55v) CCBWE 0602 (Any packing code) CCBWE 0607 (Any packing code) (2.65ghz 1.55v) From: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showth...pteron+stepping I just got a 4400+ CCBWE 609DPMW, and searched for quite awhile trying to find some info on it and didn't turn up with much, seems like some can get 2.7, and others have can't get that high. Anyone that has any info, post it or edit it in, I think this could be pretty useful for a lot of people.
michaelzhao Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Opteron 148 CAB2E 0547 GPMW. I can get 2.8ghz at 1.552 vcore. This stepping doesn't go far on stock voltages (relatively), but seems to scale extremely well with voltage. Strong cooling preferred. ReelFiles Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 AMD Opteron 170 Socket 939 CCBWE 0609 FPAW Stock.2.65GHz 1.35v OC.....2.75GHz 1.475v Max unknown yet OCDB Entry: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...9&postcount=239 Might wanna get an excel sheet going, makes it a lot easier to edit info, and you can attach it to the first post and post screenshots. I would make seperate documents for each socket.
Anospa Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Ya, thats what I plan on doing, but going to make a heading for each individual socket/processor so they show up when people search the forum, stuff in the spreadsheet will be specific stuff. Make sure you post what type of processor/socket you are using too so everything can go smoothly.
ReelFiles Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Updated my post, there should be some sort of proof of stability. Like a screen shot of 8 hours of Prime95 and CPU-Z validation.
Anospa Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Hmm, good point I guess, how 'bout we go by what they use in the OCing database? I made this thread to show what kind speeds people can expect to reach, like ballpark figures similiar to what I found on Xtremesystem's forums. ReelFiles Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 Sounds good to me, so basically all you would need to qualify is the link to you OCDB entry. Updated post with said info.
