Guest GripS Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 He'll learn one way or the other. Hopefully he won't learn the hard way with hardware failure.
WintersFury Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Weather or not the PSU has good voltages I can't reccomend getting one. The cables on that thing are so stiff it's crazy. Getting the atx cable into place is like wrestleing a boa constrictor or something...
Booster Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Theres another thread in this section that lists PSU's to avoid here http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...8&highlight=psu and under Ultra it says that except the X-Finity, I personally don't have one but outpost has it for $10AR http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4548657?s...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG I'm guessing people are still not reccomending it for a high end rig but its still a great price for another older rig. But don't go and get one and blame it on me if it causes damage, I just saw this deal lol.
ReelFiles Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 If the PSu isn't good enough for a workstation/desktop system, it's definately not good for a server.

The "Ultra X-Finity 500W Power Supply" is far better than the older X-Connect, still not up to DFI-Street.com standards, but a killer buy for only $10! Not recommended for DFI high-performance mobos!
