GC6Noob Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 just want to know what you guys think... currently i have the amd 64 3700+ and its pretty good.. but im wanting to upgrade to a dual core coz i do a lot of muti-tasking lately and prolly more of it... and was looking into the X2 4600+ for some time... now im looking at the new AM2 5000+ which is a lil bit more but on backorder... then a lot of ppl having been talking about how good the Intel E6600 cpus are compared to the AM2 or the FX-60.. now if i go with the 4600+ i can still keep all my current hardware (which is good) or i spend A LOT more money and get a better system (mobo, cpu and ram) i play lots of games, and i also do some video conversion and stuff... most of the time i just leave it overnight while i sleep... so should i spend the extra money and get the new system WITH DDR2 ram or stay with the reg DDR.. momomo6789 Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 umm just go with a cheap 3800 x2 and be happy forever yes e6600 will stomp that poor cpus face in but you know its all about how much $$$ you got and if you are not hardcore bencher and you really just want good preformance just stick with what you got you will see very good and fast work with the 3800 x2 just not as fast but if you dont care about a min here a min there then go with a 3800 for 175 and keep all your old stuff
