You should not have to no...

 

have to say though that I would suggest you clear your cmos and load defaults after swapping chips...I have had some real wierd things happen to me when I have not done that.

 

I am not saying I have not done it many times and got away with it...only that some real wierd stuff has happened when I have not done it on occassion.

 

I have not had chips that required different timings on memory but I have had chips that could run the same mem a lot faster than others.
