Redbeaver Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 just rebooted anyhow, here;s my scaling... 1.35 up to 2.3ghz, tried 2.5, didnt work... 1.45 2.3 to 2.8Ghz... 2.9Ghz didnt work.... 1.55 @2.9 didnt work... currently trying 1.60 (cpuz/everest reads 1.584V) remember, im on SLI Inf. tat means no 10-20-30% above CPU ratings... i only got Vcore. period. if 1.6 wont let 2.9Ghz, i'll b happy wit 2.8Ghz but im still far from finish .......... Redbeaver Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 goddamn.... it takes 1.625 to get prime stable at 2.9... nothing higher works for higher frequency... is it worth it to bump 0.175 to get 100mhz? no. dropping back to 1.45 at 2.8.... tweakfreak88 Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I have the LCBIE 0618EPMW 3800+ X2. I'm installing the OS and will keep you guys updated in my findings.
Redbeaver Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 yay! let all 0618EPMW unites! lol im hijacking my own question thread into my oc log... oh well.... 280 requires 1.475 290 requires 1.625 and after a few more attempts 285 requires 1.500! so i thought i'll stick wit 1.5, no more... (wow, just under 8 hours i installed this thing lol) 2.89... failed... 2.88....still benching... about 10min now... maybe i'll shut it off for the night to let AS5 blends in...... tweakfreak88 Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 How long they say it takes for the AS5 to take full effect. I'm on a stock heatsink but I used AS5 instead of that stock sticky junk.
Redbeaver Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 well, the RUMOURS that i heard of (u can probably check AS5 website too) is burning it for 8hr, then leave it to cool down for another 8, then burn again, cool again, repeat for at least 3 times during 5 days...... or somethin like that........ im currently testing 2.87... 2.88 failed after 30 min......... farksy Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 You also need to burn-in the chip a little. AMD works well with some burn-in
tweakfreak88 Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 What do you folks like to run your LDT at? Keep it below 1Ghz? Also whatcha running on your chipset voltage and your pcie freq?
tcw Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I'm running : 2860 x10 multi x4 htt 1.488 volts 200mzh memory and that is really holding me back. The above is stable the below is stable untill 6hr58min then it gets 100 warnings 2900 10x multi x4 htt 1.52 volts 147 mhz memory. I'm running PC 3200 ddr corsair memory. Stinger Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I have read that ATI chipsets could work at high HTT frequencies, but did you try setting the HTT to x3 ? Maybe it helps a little in stability, because having it under 1000 doesn't affect performance. Another detail that could help, is using only 2 ram sticks instead of 4... it will help to overclock better, if not the processor, at least a lot with the memory. Redbeaver Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 finally, mine stable up at 2.87... 1.50V errors out after 5 hours, 1.52 went through like butter.... but 2.9, 2.89Ghz will error out, im happy wit 2.87... HTT 287 multi x10 HT multi x3 chipset 1.6V vcore 1.525, reads about 1.520~1.521V RAM DDR477 (stock is DDR500, so no prob there) 3-4-3-8 1T @2.8Ghz
tweakfreak88 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Im yielding the same results. Although im trying to get my memory to run at a 1:1 ratio. It boots up just fine but it eventually errors out on superpi. I remember seeing a memory tweak guide somewhere but i don't know where. Any pointers would be helpful.
