Driving Game

Does anyone know of a really good driving game?

Not just a plain one, but more where you can do stuff to your car.

If anyone has seen the trailer for The Fast and The Furious coming out for X-Box and PS2, i want one exactly like that...but for computer!

I know of a few ok games, where you can buy upgrades for your car, but i want more where you can change the look (eg. body kits, neons, etc.)

P.S.

Please don't suggest Midnight Outlaw Illegal Street Drag...i already own the original and nitro edition, and they aren't all that great!

Also, something online would be great as well, but not really required

I think that will be a hard question to answer, any computer racing game I've tried that I wanted to totally customize my car as well as have good driving physics, I have not found. Its usually to do with the driving aspect of things and can never get really down to the nitty gritty with customization. All I want to do is be able to add a nitrous kit to my car, or paint it, put decals on, change headlights, change spoiler. I'm very surprised no one has came up with an extremely customizable game yet. Either that or I've never heard of one.

the Sega GT2002 or something like that that came with my xbox was fun. in essance it its the compation for gran-tourismo. IMO the learning curve wasn't as steep so it was a little more fun to play.

sorry thought they made a pc version too, but i guess not

I also have that for X-Box, and thats not really what i was looking for either.

That is a really good game to play just for the fun of it, but when it comes down to customization, you can't do anything at all. All you can do is buy stuff that upgrades performance, nothing for the look of the car.

I as well am surprised no one has made a game like this. Im sure it would sell to many people, especially with christmas right around the corner, and with 2Fast 2Furious just released, as well as The Fast and The Furious game for XB and PS2 coming out in nearly 2-4 days, surely, it would be one the virge of selling out with just pre-orders

When it comes right down to it, the PC Industy is almost switching right over to the Gaming Industy, when you look at it, everyone is starting to make consoles these days, because thats where the realy money is. I think i read somewhere that "for every 1 computer sold, 2 computers are built by someone for a cheaper price. For every 2 computers built, 5 consoles are bought for half that price."

i saw a trailer for NFS: underground that came with a pc gamer a few months back and it looked pretty promising... the trailer showed the car driving along and then adding more and more stuff to it, so you might be able to do a lot of customization with the game... it would be pretty sweet if they gave you the ability to adjust cosmetic and machine settings in a game or they had a few different modes where you could concentrate on one or the other or both...
