phoxxy Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I have updated my BIOS in a while, so I thought I should update as needed. I updated to the latest BIOS for my board which I downloaded from the DFI website. I updated as I had in the past (which I might add posed no problems), but after this update, I cannot boot my computer. I have cleared the CMOS per instructions in the manual figuring that it had a corrupt setting. Still nothing. I also replaced the power supply thinking I might have had a bad power supply. Symptoms: Pushing the computer's power button causes the computer to start booting for 1 to 3 seconds and then it immediately shuts down. After having the system off for a few hours and trying again, the system beeped once, attempted to boot, but shut down after 5 seconds. I could use some help on this. I need to know if the board is now fried. I can't afford to have any downtime. Any ideas for a fix would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I will be buying a new motherboard tomorrow.
