TomcatV Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 9 months ago ... Angry turned us on to the 4-Pin Floppy "pass through" connector source @ SVC (for 0.75$) to complete the (4) MB power connections. This is the cleanest wiring solution unlike the simple "single" molex -->FDD connector (12.95$ @ compusa) ...I can no longer find it at SVC or anywhere else? .... could someone "please" link a new source! Old SVC part# - FCS5-08 ... 10" Floppy Pass Through Connector Thanks in advance!
Guest Kobalt Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 SVC said they don't carry is anymore. You can make your own if you got tools, if not, then hit froogle, and you will find it, but NOT at that price, not even close. TomcatV Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Thanks ... been googling with no luck (time consuming?) got the tools but i'd rather have another source (Link to vendor) than to order the parts to make one up. Price is not the biggie (should've ordered a dozen @ .75c way back when) ... someone has to know of a new source ... hopefully! Guest Blooz1 Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Well, this isn't quite the same as what you're looking for, but it'd work; http://www.frozencpu.com/cab-15.html There's other stuff here, too: http://www.frozencpu.com/scan/se=Cable%20S...enu_search.html
Informationator Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Y'know... I actually came upon the revelation myself about 6 months ago that if I could only find a "floppy extension cable" of some sort it would make cable management so much better. Funny that angry thought the same thing. Are angry games and happy games two different people? I'm confused about that . I wish you the best. Please post a link if you find one!!! TomcatV Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 OK ... I had no luck finding the no longer available SVC cable above, and am a little surprised no one chimed in with a new source. In my opinion DFI is the "Ferrari" of MB's and this cable should come with the board! Some will always complain about price ... but what is your time worth? ... Until then and for those that make their own wiring leads or harnesses, and understand the time involved for a quality job, and are into "sharp looking" ... efficient cable management maybe you'd be interested and could justify the cost for the custom cable harness below? Description: I would like a 6" Molex extension and a 6" FDD floppy connector plug (4-pin female) added in at the (male) Molex end. 6" measured wire length (not including the plug length) on both leads, sleeved and shrink wrapped in yellow or black?, with black (or yellow?) plugs/connectors. For reference see 8-pictures down http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...power+connector or here's some more views on the connections needed http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...power+connector Reply from Hank: We would have to make this from scratch so kind of high labor. new update Hank obviously concurred there is a need here, was very helpful, and made it easier to order ... even lowered the price for custom colored sleeving! You're welcome in advance ... can I have a "cookie" now Order Here: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/ind...oducts_id=20546 Best Regards, Hank Baron Performance PC's, Inc. www.performance-pcs.com
