torped91 Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I lost my raid disk and didnt install it during windows format. Now i am trying to access my external hdd (sata). Connected the hdd, heard the usb sound thing but doesnt appear on My Computer. Checked disk management and it say "Unallocated". The hdd has stuff in it, is there a way i can access it? Or alternatively can i install the raid now with reformatting windows again?
Capt Proton Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I don't understand the reference to RAID. Was your external HDD built as a RAID Array with another Hard Drive? If it was, you will need to rebuild the same RAID Array. If not, then I don't know, but you should be able to access the data. Hopefully, someone with more knowledge than I, and there are lots, will come along.
Branjo Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Yeah you need to be a lttle more specific. if you install windows to a seperate disk other than your 2 x HDD (RAID) then after you install the chipset drivers you should be able to access the RAID again. just unplug the RAID first before you install windows to the other drive.
