Azn Tr14dz Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 What are good timings for GeIL Ultra Platinum PC 3200? Here it is on GeIL's site: http://www.geilusa.com/proddetail.asp?linenumber=18 I used to be able to get it to ~250Mhz Memtest86+ stable (@ 3-4-4-9 1T), but I can't get it that high now. I'm sure the reason is because I don't know the best timings for it on my DFI LP UT nF4 Ultra-D...and I can't find out what kind of chips GeIL uses on these either, possibly Hynix... If you know good timings for my GeIL or know of a place that would help me out, that would be nice... Thanks, -Azn
lowboy Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 It could have either of these:Winbond CH-5 Mosel Vitelic 5ns You can check here:http://www.techpowerup.com/memdb/
Azn Tr14dz Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Is that a good thing or bad? Are (either of) those 2 good kind of memory?
Azn Tr14dz Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 There's a chance that my Geil Ultra Platinum might be Winbond UTT CH-5, which I heard needs more voltage (around 3.0-3.2v) to run at 200Mhz, but when being overclocked needs less than Windbond UTT BH-5...my question is, what is the max recommended voltage without active cooling? Here is my memory: http://www.geilusa.com/proddetail.asp?linenumber=18 Should I get something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16835119011 It might be the reason why I can only get to 206Mhz @ 2.7v... TheFlowerKing Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 3.1v, maybe 3.2v without some sort of fan on there, but you'd be pushing it, 3.0v and you should be ok. It shouldn't need more than 2.8v at 200MHz though..
