Azn Tr14dz Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Can you shut down using the onboard "EZ-Button" on the SLI-DR? Or the buttons on the front of the case?
venomous_jpz Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 yes i can, should i just shut down using the buttons instead of Start>shutdown?
lowboy Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Did you run memtest and pass at least4hrs before installing OS. Your post indicate a unstable system. Corsair memory can be though with these boards.

venomous_jpz Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 ok- if doesnt pass then upgrade to OCZ ram?
Azn Tr14dz Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 I've had that exact same problem before, with this DFI and other motherboards as well, and as long as they can shut down with either the on-board start/reset buttons, or the buttons on the case, the motherboard is ok. All the times it has happened to me, it was a Windows XP problem, so a fresh re-install fixed it...but in your case, maybe something else...but your DFI shouldn't be the problem. Maybe (possibly) memory...

lowboy Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Run memtest #5 for10-20 passes if passes run memtest overnight then install OS if Test fail you know you will need to do a clean install of OS after you have found good settings. If new build follow this:http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showpost.p...04&postcount=
