Overclocking 2.6cghz With Abit Ic7

Hey,

I am new to this forum. I was wondering this is my rig:

Abit IC7

P4 [email protected] with 1:1 233:233

1 GB Corsiar PC3700 DDR(466MHz) RAM

ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128 DDR

Western Digital 120 GB SATA hard drive

My worry is. If anyone knows what Prime95 is, when im running it for a minute, my cpu temp goes up to 40 degrees c!!! And when i run it for like 15 minutes, it goes to 69 degrees. If I run it more than that for sure it will burn.

wow guys all of you guys must be having bad luck. Luck of the draw. mY 2.4C at 3.6 ghz (1200)300 fsb was only 40-45 at full load. That was with a Volcano 7+. could be your ambient temperature. Also what u might want to try with water cooling is purchase and small mini fridge and buy enough hose and get a good pump to pump water through the refrig and cool it down. Chilled water.

Will,

That's a great idea, I was actually thinking about doing that. I decided to wait though and get the Prometia Mach 2. But I must wait a while before I can do it.

The ambient temp here is pretty high, I'm in San Diego California. The ambient is about 30-35c usually. My air conditioning unit is in the other room for now. We're moving in about a year and then I'll get AC for my computer room.

My computer idles at 37c and loads at about 54c. It's a 3.2 oc'd at 3.5 for now. I ordered an extra radiator to fill in the gap till I can get a prometia. Also got the vid water block for the 9800 pro. That should raise the temp a bit too.

Devin
