mokaveli Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 my antec power supply recently bailed out on me so i got an ocz gamexstream 600w to replace it along with an artcic cooling frezzer pro for my cpu, an evercool vc-re for the chipset and an arctic cooling silencer for my 7800 gt. I put all the parts together and it worked fine for 1 day then on the 2nd day the pc just stopped working it would turn on and the fans would spin but it doesnt boot. Could someone please help me out and tell me if its a bios problem or something much more serious.

Clay Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 @SoundX Hehee.... I'd find it in either place. But it probably should be in the nf4 help part. @mokaveli: Lemme reread that. "It would turn on and the fans would spin but it doesnt boot. Could someone please help me out and tell me if its a bios problem or something much more serious" Truthfully that sounds very much like a bios problem but maybe not.(I really can't think of too many things that could be more serious though) Are the diagnostic 4leds lit up? Or just some of them if so which 1's. Have you tried a long cmos clear? Did you change any settin' in the bios before this started? Hang on lemme reread some more stuff an look some stuff up. Is this it? http://www.frozencpu.com/cpu-arc-09.html The heatsink I mean. Hummm... That's an nf4 Infinity I'm not really up on those. Guess best stick to basic's and hopefully come out bein' helpful. No Diagnostic leds though.LOL If ya' got yer' sink on good careful install no caps got in the way too much? And it was showin' good temps?(Askin' could be processor or bad cap) You got which ever board aux power connections plugged in good? That's also the symptom of what we call a cold start. Weak psu w/too much oc can cause it usually hittin' the reset button fixes that.(Usually) Until more info is availible the best advice I have is the long cmos clear. 1#.Unplug the PSU. 2#, Hit the power switch to drain the psu. 3#. Remove the cmos battery. 4#, Move the cmos jumper to the clear position. Leave it that way for 30mins to 24hrs. 5#. Make sure cmos jumper is in the run position.(If it's in the clear position it will do exactly what it's doin') 6#.Put battery back 7#.Plug er' in. 8#.Let er' rip!(Or press the on switch) Good luck I hope that's all it needs. It could be something fried too. Won't know til' you repost. Could be all kinds of stuff when you get back well go over what we can. Stuff like reseatin' everthing. Trying to fire it up w/ 1 stick or the other. Maybe bench testing the board. Oh well lotsa' stuff it could be. Case-componite grounding . that's possible. In case anyone cares Anytime the subject of Overclocking comes up (including an overclock in the users signature) moderators have been instructed to move the thread to the Overclocking sectoin. @mokaveli - This forum is support for the US and Canada. Have you tried to buid with minimum componets out of the case. Remove everything - Use PSU, CPU+HSF, Vid Card and Mem. see if it boots. Try only one stck of RAM. Wishing you luck and wish I could do more.
