Danger Den DDC Pump...

Recommended Posts

Is the Danger Den DDC Pump the "Ultra" version or the "Plus" version. The ultra version gets almost another meter of head over the plus version.

It does not specify on the Danger Den website at all. But does anyone know?

Linkage to the pump here.

You do realize the diference is like saying "Who is stronger??? Godzilla or King Kong????" smil412d0d065574c.gif

Unless the newer BlackIce radiators offer a lot more restriction than the Extreme ones, maybe this 18w pump will be a good thing to have

What are you talking about? Comparing what to what? The Ultra to the Plus?

Of course the 18w pump is a good thing to have. Nobody said it wasn't.

EDIT: I understand why you are confused. The original link I had linked to the D5 instead of the DDC. Changed link.

no no no, I mean one is super good... I know cause I have one... the other one is like even better, but like comparing titans: both are going to do the job well.

Thats why I say that if the new Blackice radiators are more restrictive to flow than the Xtrememe ones then this pump would make a diference, sort of.

Oh, I know what you mean. Ahh... I'm not going with a black ice though. Coolingworks for me! CoolRad 22-T. This baby has been putting up great temps exceeding the Xtreme series.

There even has been speculation (key word) that it is on par with the Thermochill PA 120.2. But I'm most interested to see a comparison with the Stealth series.

But anyhow, I'm going for the this radiator. Only 12 FPI! Easy to clean. Perfect w/ 2 Yate's (its optimized for low to mid CFM quiet fans).

Remember waterflow is overkill after certain point... it won't cool better with one pump or the other, however you will have the freedom to install aditional waterblocks and don't even care about waterflow restrictions at all with the new pump.

I tried my "small" Laing D5 on a bucket of water and the waterflow was similar to my garden hose: I was like YIKES, water flow and pressure was impressive.

No no no. This isn't a D5. This is a DDC! Smaller, quieter, less head.

The problem with the DDC is that it only has a 3/8'' barb. You can find a mod to it that changes that to a 1/2'' barb. After the mod is performed, it gets almost if not as much head as the D5 on the "full" setting. It also puts less wattage in the water which is my biggest motivation.
