K33B4 Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I just happen to recieve my new X2 4800 and i went ahead an popped it into my current rig after i took out the Opty 148. I cleared the CMOS and let the computer reboot. Well after boot the system comes to the Components page and gives me a error on the whole screen: "GRUB GRUB GRUB". This error is all over the screen. Can someone please help me if they have any idea of what's going on.
h_Us3r Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 umm, what is "grub grub grub"? If you can get a screenshot, or write down the error word for word that would aid those who would like to help you greatly. h
old_geekster Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Has your hard drive been setup to dual-boot; specifically Linux and another OS? GRUB is the boot-loader used by Linux. GRUB stands for "GRand Unified Bootloader". I believe that the only way you will eliminate the problem is, " do a complete clean install of Windows". Unless you can use "regedit" to edit the "Registry". I hope this helps!

That would determine if you still have an OS loaded that's either LINUX or NTFS.
K33B4 Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Well i fixed it!! I could only think of the other IDE HDD causing problems and the moment i unplugged it; this rig worked like a charm.
