idle temps seem a little high you have a decent cooler, I'm assuming you're using as for the paste?

I can't really make much of a comparison, I'm running an amd 64 3700+ at 2.75ghz with idel temps at 28-31 and 35-36 at load

you can see through the paste in a few areas...so it looks thick in some places and thin in others but otherwise not too bad. Have you tried just putting a small drop in the middle and then smushing it down with the heat sink? Some people get better results that way.

Is it AS? It looks a little blue'ish
