3700 Newark

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

I came across a 3700 Newark and a DFI NF3 250. I have a couple questions before I put this bad boy together

1. It has 4 SATA ports, Which 2 are locked?

2. I want to put some BH5 (Geil 1) into it. How high will the Dram voltage go?

3. Do I need any SATA drivers when I install the OS if I only use one raptor?

4. Whats the best chip set drivers for this MOBO?

This is an extra system so my specs below will differ.

1. Not sure about locked...but if I remember correctly ports 3 and 4 are recommended if overclocking. Didn't use mine for long so I could be wrong on this...it's been a while.

2. ~3.1 volts, maybe a tad higher. You can boost this if you have an adjustable PSU of course.

3. Nope.

4. I only used the ones that came on the CD, others I tried didn't work well for me at all. Again, it's been a while though. (~6 months)

If you flash the bios with either Tic-Tac's or Tmod's bios you can up to 4 volts. However you need a power supply with adjustable rails to utilize any thing over 3.3 volt's.

Also keep in mind if you increase the voltage on +3.3v line it needs to be at least 1.5 to 2 times higher than what you set the voltage to your ram.

Example the max voltage I can set on my ram is 3.6 volts, my power supply is adjusted to 3.79 volts.

Check this link for Tmod's bios cd.
