Recommendation for W/C, Processor for L.P. UT CFX3200-DR

Hi Guys,

Long time lurker on the forums, first time poster. Right now I have saved up about $2,000 to put together a dream system. I have gotten a ton of good advice about Mobo, Ram, and CPU's. Just wondering if you guys can recommend something better than the setup I have virtually built on the net to figure out prices? I want to OC and Watercool with this setup. BTW I have my certification in A+, but I am new (Few months) into learning how to Overclock/Watercooling.

Will this water cooling kit suit me for the ~$300.00 it costs? One last question, should I shell out an extra $100.00 for the 152 Venus or $200.00 for the 154 Venus or go off in a different direction with the San Diego or Toledo CPU's?

I was looking at the Danger Den 4200 Water cooling Kit:

I will be running an AMD Opteron 150 Venus 1000MHz HT 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor:

All-in-all I have a total of ~$1800 with these parts priced from newegg.com and dangerden.com

Any comments/suggestion greaty appreciated.

lol I didn't even notice your location. But yeah I don't know any U2 people. I work with Globalhawk. The price on the 3800's are pretty good you should look into that as well.

the x2 4400's are going for only $250 right now, might want to use that extra money if you go for one and get a better case. acrylic cases run hotter b/c they don't dissipate heat as well as the aluminum ones. I would suggest looking at the CM Stacker or like case to give you room for W/C and plenty of room for future upgrades you might make.

Just my 2 cents:

If I was going to build a new (from the ground up) system I would do AM2. I believe the OC is about the same (but I'm not 100% so check it out), and with the DD2 memory you will have better options for upgrading later.

Say if CoreDuo really really takes off you would just need a MB and CPU. Or if you get a X2 3800 - very cheep right now - you can upgrade later to the latest and gratest AM2.

Good luck on the build! and I don't think you can do much better than DD. They have really exellent products and people!
