GeIL Ultra Plat. not o/c'ing well with Ultra-D...

Recommended Posts

I recently got a DFI LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D, and for some reason, my GeIL Ultra Platinum on goes up to 208Mhz @ 2-3-3-6 1T...and I've tried other timings such as 2.5-3-3-6 1T, and also 3-4-4-9 1T, and for all none can get past a 10Mhz overclock. On my previous board(Jetway 939Gt4-SLI) I got it to around 250Mhz Memtest86 stable. I know the board has lots of options for memory, and I read the huge overclocking section and set it all to the appropriate values, and still nothing...what should I do? Recommended BIOS?

Thanks,

Azn

It is frustrating when ram sticks that work on other board and will not on another, especially when you have already known that it works. Take my OCZ plats, works great on my SLI-DR, ddr630, my Expert, cant get it to ddr500. Here is what I would do. Set bios settings to default, everything at stock. Take the cpu out of the equation by lowering the multiplier. Now test the rams together with memtest for at least 4hrs. If no error leave it at stock then increase the speed by 5 increments and test with memtest everytime of increase. Testing ram and getting its best potential is a lot of work. Good luck.

Oh, where are my manners. Welcome to the Streets!!!!!!!!:)
