Markku Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I had been planning on getting a XP-90C while I re-worked the mess that is my rig. Was waiting for the end of the month to order the XP-90C, but it appears as though it has been replaced by this. How well does it compare to the XP-90C? Should I be looking at the SI-120 or XP-120 instead?
Angry_Games Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 never heard of it but I'd get just the aluminum XP heatsink, forget the copper too much weight for only 1C to 2C better cooling, and usually costs almost double the aluminum version XP-120 and SI-120 are also good
SeanDude05 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Looks like the RT version comes with a OEM fan.
Guest GripS Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Looks like the RT version comes with a OEM fan. I was just checking out that link. Seems like RT is short for Retail maybe? For the most part they usually come alone in a brown box and you order your fan of choice. Honestly if i were to do it over again i might either go with the XP-120 or the SI-128. The XP-90 is a badass HSF for the money. Got mine from SVC for 26 bucks. Fan was another 10 bucks(92mm panaflo).
RAINMAKA Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 The XP-120 is my first heatsink so I have nothing to compare it to, but I am very happy with it and reccomend it.
SeanDude05 Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Yep, before I went with DangerDen WC, I had a XP-120 which I just now donated to my brother's computer. Awesome cooler, kept my aging FX-57 frosty almost. Only complaint is that if you try to remove the HSF cold, and by cold I mean with the AS5 hardened, it could rip your processor straight out of the socket, which happened to me (bent some pins, took a while to fix it, but that was my mistake). Great coolers both of em.
