mem divider problem

i read the oc guide on how to find the max of a cpu but whn i go to set a mem divider on anything below 166 my comp wont post and i have to reset from jumper why is this?and how am i to find my cpu max now.also why when i oc too high do i corrupt windoe dll files?it is annoying and time consuming to fix

Well,

 

#1. What FSB are you using and what settings and voltage are you giving to your RAM?

 

#2. If you OC too high and your corrupting windows, that shows that your RAM is running too fast and is giving errors.

 

#3. When you OC, you need to run memtest, Prime95 and SuperPi 32M to make sure it is stable. When Windows corrupts, that shows that your overclock is unstable.
