SLI-DR compatibility

Recommended Posts

I'm planning on ordering my system about a day after teh AMD price drop, and plan on getting a SLI-DR and Athlon 64 X2 3800. You may have seen my other posts wondering if I needed to get a BIOS upgrade to use the X2 with that mobo. This was because Newegg does not list the X2s as a CPU Type (only has Athlon 64/FX/ Sempron). But now i've seen that DFI has X2s on there.

Of course I would trust DFI over newegg, so this post was probably a waste of time, but I just wanted to make sure. So will the SLI-DR have the most recent BIOS when I get it or will I need to get the latest version?

Thanks Alot.

Hello,

It should have the more recent BIOS and that will be ok for the X2 cpu.

If not it will still work but your performance will be a bit slow, just need to flash it to at lease 623-3.

Not sure about the performance drop... but I think Sharp is right about the BIOS version of the new SLI-DR: it will be able to run the X2 with out problems, and thus give you the chance of using a better BIOS later.
