tasr Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 You will not get the same timings with four memory modules compared to two. You will most likely need to disable CPC in BIOS before you can get four memory modules boot. son Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Yes i've disabled that, and your right the system wouln't boot without disabling it. But my problem is I cannot run DDR 500 with 4 sticks were I could with 2. Any advice on getting 4 sticks to work at 500Mhz would be helpful. I'm stable now at 455 2.5-4-4-6 2T but can't go any further. I don't understand why it cannont go 500 when its rated for that, and actully is soposed to be able to go much further. tasr Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Did you test the memory? What volts are you running? Check, but I think they are rated 2.6V-3.1V @ CAS 2.5 7-4-4 @ DDR500MHz PC4000 Put 1 memory module in the orange slot closet to the edge. Raise your FSB 250 lower your multiplier to 7 or 8. Enabling MemTest86+ in the BIOS and run test #5 and #8 for 5-10 passes. Do this for each one of the modules. If they all pass then run all test over night with all the modules. BDore Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 I used to have these geil modules. Stable settings were 250mhz @ 2.5-4-4-7 @ 2.8v. Btw, they do not overclock well. Unlesse they changed the chip (hynix d43).
