So quick question

 

can yo use different hard drive sizes for a mirror raid?

 

seagate dont seem to make the 300gb i have so if i get a 320gb will my raid array just see the 320 as a 300 and work?

The last time i checked it would see it as 300. so u would have 2x300gb in mirror raid, you will lose the extra 20gb's on the larger drive.

Absolutely right... use 2 odd drives in a RAID1 config, say a 200 and a 250... and you'll end up with a total storage of 200, backup of 200 and unused of 50.
