Overclocker16 Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 Well, you know the graphics will suck with that card. Other then that, I would say latest drivers and it should be enough to use...

cstrike Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 Where do we find that in the bios? we looked , are we overlooking it ?
AYoKoNA Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 usually there is an option in the bios to make primary video either AGP or PCI (that way the comp searches either the PCI or AGP first for faster boot up). I don't know if all boards have this feature but MOST do. Ill check when i get home what the exact bios option is.
Some_Guy_ Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 More often than not, the default is set to PCI... don't know why. Even if you don't make any changes, it should still work fine -- if it's set to AGP, it will just check the AGP slot first, and if no card is found, it will then start checking PCI slots. Makes for a slower boot sequence, but it should all work fine.
bigred Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 also the pci mx cards aren't going to get him stellar benchmarks or look any better on a newer system that's designed for an AGP card. give him some time till he can afford an agp card THEN he'll see the difference. In one of my other systems i currently use a pci card instead of an agp card because it's not a gaming system. It works fine, even in most games surprisingly.
