tarkins Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 I actually have the 1006 bios version, but I have some strange error "window explorer has encounter an error and need to close". I want to go back to the 1004 version. Here's the problem, when I use the Built-in AwardBios Flash utility (ATL-F2), everything seem ok (looks like it flash the bios) but when I reboot, I'm still with the 1006 version!!! How can I flash it to 1004???
ClayMeow Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 i dunno the answer to your question, but wondered what makes you believe this error is caused by the bios? A lot of people here use 1006, as do I, and we haven't had any problems with it.

ClayMeow Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 are you inserting a disk with the 1004 bios and/or locating it properly? If you're just relying on the utility, it's probably reflashing the 1006 version. Make sure you have the 1004 file.
bigred Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 the asus flash utility in windows will not allow you to go back. you will need a floppy and to do it from dos.
tarkins Posted October 20, 2003 Posted October 20, 2003 I use the ALT-F2 at start up, in dos, with a floppy
