Burleyboy Posted July 18, 2006 I just picked one up for $235.79, with 2nd day Fed-Ex. Seems like a hell of a deal. So, why am I so nervous? I got jumped on mightily once, when I said I wanted to get into a dual core, but didn't want the Opti 165, because I was gonna wait for the better clocked ones to come down in price. My mistake. I now know that they have a history of clocking real high and well, but it just seems odd to move from a completely rock solid stable 4000+ at 2750, to a dual processor that's only rated at 1.8Ghz. So I'm wondering, what does anyone think is a realistic minimum I should be able to get out of it. Are there any stability issues or anything I should know? I understand it depends on the stepping. What ones would I be lucky to get? It seems like a real crapshoot, if I got a bad one , what would it be, and what could I expect from it. Doesn't it seem like the good weeks would be picked over by now? I guess what I'm really asking is this a step forward over my 4000+ I suppose I can just look at it as an excellent price, and it didn't cost that much, but ever since I built this thing last summer, this obsessive hobby has been sucking my butt dry.
