Guest Blooz1 Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 Just ran across this article - thought people here might enjoy a look! http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/tech-ga...ngest-case-mods Some serious work here!
Guest Timmay Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 I remember reading about the wheel mod a while back, that was some awesome work. Also got me interested in the hardware. The WoMD one is just kick arse, turning up to a LAN with that and a screen would get some attention.
Guest BFG Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 That WMD one WAS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't think that very many of them were strange.. except for the hard drive one.
uneedav8 Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 This one needs to be on the list.......not too strange but different. http://www.techeblog.com/index.php/tech-ga...chopper-pc-case
shatteredsteel Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I was actually reading through the work log for the DOOM case on best case scenario...Very very well made...although I think people who do those mods are nuts...or maybe I'm just too lazy...hmmmm
Guest Blooz1 Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 shatteredsteel - I think "obsessed" is the word! One of my fav's is this one: http://www.wizdforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1758 "BaDassumption" - 90% custom-machined billet aluminum, this rig's been in the works for over a year, not done yet! Guest nibs Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 I saw one a long time ago that I still think about, the entire exterior of the case was made from fans. I think they all even turned on. Can't seem to find it though.

red930 Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 http://teampuss.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t...der=asc&start=0 Not really a case mod, but still pretty impressive what this guy has done. I haven't seen it but I believe it's still in Ames. He's experimenting with a dielectric bath - basically submerging the motherboard in a dielectric fluid and cooling the fluid down. This is in addition to the custom cooler for the cpu and graphics cards....pretty cool stuff. I've been thinking about using the polishing wheels for my TDX sometime this summer...just for sumthin to do.
n1ce_hat Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 i really like that 'honorable mention' Boss FX-57 mod. Very well done, i think someone should produce more muscle-car-era computer cases..

Guest Blooz1 Posted July 4, 2006 Posted July 4, 2006 Thanks for that one, Dan! Kinda like "old home week" - we used to use the exact same equipment at the company I used to work for for many years for metallographic samples used for measuring electroplating thickness! It's not as simple as it looks to get a good finish, by a long shot! BTW - any idea of the cost of that project?
