Memory Shootout

Aight, most of us OCers want to know what Memory Will take us all the way when it comes to OCing the crap out of your rigs, I got this months issue of Maximumpc and in their they tell us just that.

All Mem. Modules are 512Mb Sticks

The testing program was, Ultra-X RSTPro2 PCI Ram Tester

"The top speed we report is the highest speed at which a module successfully completed five consecutive passes though Ultra-X's Stress test regimen without error." -maximumpc

"All ram was tested in an ASUS p4c800 Mobo, and an unlocked 3.2Ghz Pentium 4. All Modules were tested at the most conservative timing settings in a single transfer mode, both at 2.65v and 2.85v." -maxiumpc

Now I wish they actually told us what timings they used, but they did now how ever.

Here are the mem. modules they used in their testings.

Corsair - Part # XMS4000 CMX512-4000 :Rated Speed 500Mhz:

OCZ - Part # PC 4000 EL DDR :Rated Speed 500Mhz:

Buffalo - Part # PC4300U-25440-A1 DD544-S512/HB :Rated Speed 533Mhz:

Mushkin - Part # Mushkin Enhanced PC3700 DDR :Rated Speed 466Mhz:

Kingston - Part # HyperX KHX4000K2/1G :Rated Speed 500Mhz:

Here are the top speeds each mem. module could handle from the Ultra-X test.

Corsair - 503Mhz

OCZ - 466Mhz

Buffalo - 516Mhz

Mushkin - 516Mhz

Kingston - 526Mhz

Now by far we can tell that The kingston HyperX has the best Overclocking ability, but for mushkin to be rated at 466 and hit 516, WOW!

Pretty impressive..

Well thats it, now enjoy your regular forum programming.
